Graveside services for Ronald Foster, 85, of Spearsville will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Spearsville City Cemetery with Bro. Tim Hogue officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mr. Foster went to his heavenly home on Thursday, October 1, 2020. Mr. Foster, fondly called “Babe”, was the first Fire Chief of the Spearsville Fire Department, former Mayor and Alderman of Spearsville and Owner/Operator of Foster Station for 50 years. Babe loved hunting and fishing and was known as a fish frying king. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his cousins and friends.
Mr. Foster was preceded in death by his parents, W.C. & Rosa Lee Foster; wife, Beverly Foster; daughter, Debbie Langley; son, Alan Johnson; and brother, Donald Foster.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Cathy Barnes (Bill), Sandy Silmon (Mark) and Jeff Johnson (Karen); twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild; brothers, Barney Foster (Vaneta) and Harry Foster (Dorothy); numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. ~ 3:00 p.m., Sunday, October 4, 2020 at Spearsville First Baptist Church.
