On Tuesday of last week Mrs. J. G. Trimble was called to Ruston on account of the serious illness of her father, Mr. R. M. Hardy. When she arrived there Mr. Hardy was in an unconscious state from which he never rallied, but died peacefully early Thursday morning. He leaves a widow and four children, all of whom were at his beside during his last hours. Mr. Hardy had been in failing health for several months, suffering with Bright’s disease, but he was able to be up and about the house Friday before his death, hence his family scarcely realized his true condition. He was good, a kind husband, an indulgent father, an exemplary christian, a citizen, and at time of his death was parish treasurer and a member of the town council.
