News was received this morning at Farmerville that Mr. Jacob Marx was dead. He died yesterday afternoon at four o’clock at the insane asylum at Jackson, La., whither he was carried about a week ago, in an incurable demented condition. For many years Mr. Marx was a leading merchant of Farmerville, but for the past decade he has been engaged in the hardware business at Monroe, where he had a profitable trade. He leaves a wife and several children to mourn his loss, to whom The Gazette extends deep sympathy.
