Linus C. Malone

The Gazette
September 28, 1898

Died of congestion, near Oak Ridge, La., August 30, 1898, little Linus C. Malone, aged 6 years, 11 months and 4 days. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jas. B. Malone. Little Linus was the idol of father and mother; their hearts were set upon him, and they anticipated much pleasures in his coming life. But how soon can our plans and prospects be thwarted? God hath taken little Linus to Himself, and hath in so doing given to the father and mother an urgent call to steer the boat of life toward that haven where Jesus said, “I will come again and receive you unto myself, that where I am ye shall be also.” Parents, do not grieve; Linus has crossed over the river to shake hands with his grandpapa and his little bother who had crossed over before.
