May 18, 1898
Della K., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Kendrick, aged 16 years and 2 days, departed this life May 2, 1898. She was a charming girl and was loved by all who knew her. She had a kind word and a bright smile for everyone. She fought the battle of this life until the death-angel passed over and wafted her soul on high. We extend the greatest sympathy to her bereaved parents. She leaves a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn her loss.
She thought to find some healing ethane
But she found that other shore
That city whose inhabitants
Are sick and sorrowful no more
She asked for that human love
The loving know how best
The infinite yearning of a heart
Which but infinity can fill
She wished for perfect peace to soothe
The troubled anguish of her breast
And numbered with the loved and called
She entered on untroubled rest.
