Captain F. H. Cann Dead

Mr. S. W. Ramsey, received a telephone from Monroe Monday evening announcing the serious illness of Capt. F. H. Cann, and summoning him to his beside.

Tuesday morning word was received via the telephone that Mr. Cann died that morning at 8 o’clock from a paralytic stroke.

The deceased was for a number of years a prosperous planter and merchant of this parish. In the 70’s he bought a plantation in Ouachita parish, 10 miles below Monroe, where he has since resided. Mr. Cann is brother of Mrs. Harriet Dozier of Union parish, and has a host of friends here who will regret to hear of his demise.

The Gazette extends sincerest sympathy to the grief stricken relativies.
