Jimmy Myles Smith, 62, a resident of Marion, LA, passed away February 1, 2013 at St. Francis Hospital from heart failure.
Jimmy was born in Monroe, LA, on December 9, 1950, the son of Prentis Spurgeon Smith and Nanny C. (King) Smith. Jimmy graduated high school at Sterlington. Jimmy was married to the love of his life, Addie Morris of Monroe, LA.
He spent his working career employed as a millwright at IMC in Sterlington until he became disabled. He spent most of his time enjoying the outdoors, both hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed spending time tending to his small farm. Jimmy had a passion for milk goats and was active in the local dairy goat community as a prize winning breeder and advocate.
Jimmy was survived by his wife, Addie Morris; his sister, Adina Miller; two sons, Steven Smith and Bradley Smith; and six grandchildren, Presley Michelle, Harley Prentis, James Ellis, Matea Emmanuelle, Dillon Mitchell, and Katelyn Hope. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Kenneth, Coy Wayne and Fay Ola.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00am Monday, February 4, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church, Farmerville. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery. A visitation is planned from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Sunday at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
