The Gazette
October 16, 1895

It is with sincere regret that the News chronicles the death at his home at Bosco last Saturday of Mr. Sidney Cann, eldest son of Mr. A. A. Cann. Deceased was aged about 21 years and was a bright young man, but for several years past has been an invalid and in bad health. His death, however, was a shock to his family, as it was not anticipated, he passing peacefully away without a struggle or a murmur while seated in a chair. The remains were laid to rest yesterday, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. J. B. Seavoy , of the Monroe Baptist church. To the bereaved family the News extends its warmest sympathies. – Monroe News.

The deceased was a son of Mr. Abe Cann, formerly a resident of this parish and also a nephew of Mrs. H. Dozier of this place.
