Marion, La., Dec. 6. – Dr. J. Percy Powell, 70, of Mangham, was buried here this afternoon, having died in a hospital in Vicksburg, Miss. after an extended illness. Funeral services were held at his home in Mangham this morning.
He was born and reared at Marion, and practiced medicine here for a number of years, having moved to Mangham several years ago. His first wife died about 22 years ago. He is survived by his second wife and the following daughters and sons: Mrs. A. B. Andrews, Bastrop; Mrs. J. E. Terry, Monticello, Ark.; Mrs. Emmett White, Mer Rouge; Mrs. A. B. Turnage, Farmerville; Kelson Powell, South Carolina and J. Percy Powell, Jr. of Mangham. He leaves two sisters, Mrs. Ida Anderson and Mrs. Alice Hopkins, both of Marion and a large number of other relatives here and in other portions of North Louisiana.
