Jeffery Michael Dozier

Services celebrating the life of Jeffery Michael Dozier, 41, will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016,  at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, with the Rev. J.E. Brown officiating. Burial will follow at Reppond Cemetery in Marion. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the funeral home.

Jeff was born on November 29, 1974, to the marriage of Julius and Mary Sanders Dozier. His courageous, three-year battle against cancer ended August 20, 2016, with him surrounded by his family at their home on Bayou Bartholomew in Sterlington.

Starting with the loss of his parents as a child, Jeff overcame many obstacles in his life. Though he lacked a formal education, he had a near genius intellect. Even greater, though, was his heart and the compassion he displayed to everyone he met. At the time of his initial diagnosis, he was employed as a production manager for DG Foods, Inc., in Bastrop.

He is survived by: His wife, Nicki Oglesby Dozier; his children Julius Cayne, Cole Wayne and Maci Daye; a brother, Dennis Dozier of Little Rock; a sister, Kim Dozier Walker of Bastrop; his mother in law, Linda Oglesby of Bastrop; as well as other family members and a host of friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brandon McDonald, Jordan McDonald, Darren Oglesby, Mark Rainwater and Sammy Turner.

The family requests memorials be made to the charity of your choice.

The time of my departure has come. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

II Timothy 4:6b-8
