Alvin L. W. Price

Funeral services for Alvin Price, 88, of West Monroe, formally of Downsville, will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 17, 2016 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Glenn Price and Bro. Payton Bass officiating. Burial will be in Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mr. Price, a retired Fire Fighter with the City of West Monroe, went to his heavenly home October 14, 2016. Serving his community as a Fire Fighter for 22 years, Mr. Price is also a United States Army Veteran who fought during the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Beulah & Will Price; three brothers, Homer, Johnnie & George; and one grandson, Carl.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 64 years, Helen Price of West Monroe; one son, Wesley Price & wife, Betty of Sardis, Ms.; two daughters, Sharon Price Christie & husband, Tom of Frisco, Tx. and Carolyn Price Dennis & husband, Ray of Slaughter, La.; one brother, James Price of West Monroe; two sisters, Mary Ann Phillips of Shreveport, La. and Ellouise Walker & husband, Benny of Rayville, La.; three grandchildren, Nicole Hale, Alyene Christie Leslie & husband, Blake and Mary Dennis Mendez & husband, Sammy; six great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Pallbearers will be Tom Christie, Blake Leslie, Sammy Mendez, Todd Hale, Benjamin Hale, Don Price and Tony Walker.

Retired Fire Fighters serving as Honorary Pallbearers are James Price, Alan Price, Cordel King, Robert Davis, Doyce McGuffee, Sherman Harrelson, Todd McGuffee, Roger Perot, Mike Stancil and Van Taylor.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Farrar Funeral Home Chapel in Farmerville.
