Jack Lain Owen

Jack Lain Owen, resident of Hico, Louisiana died peacefully Saturday, February 13, 2016 surrounded by family. We are grateful for the one last day we had with him and for the many happy family memories with which we are blessed.

Jack was born in Hico, Louisiana January 1, 1929 to Robert Caleb Owen and Iva Lee Knox Owen. He married (Dorothy) Marie Boyett on May 14, 1949 and they had 49
happy years before she passed away in 1998. He retired from Texas Gas Corporation in 1989 after 39 years of service and was a member and deacon at Hico Baptist Church.

Jack is survived by: His four sons – Jack Wayne Owen of Haughton, Donald Ray Owen of Jennings, Jerry Lynn Owen of Ruston and Darin Lane Owen of Hico; as well as three daughters-in-law, two former daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren and their spouses, and 18 great grandchildren. He also leaves one sister, Christine Owen Aaron of Hico, as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by: His parents; his wife (Dorothy) Marie Boyett Owen; his brothers: Clyde Owen and William “Bill” Owen and his sister Katherine Owen.

Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Hico Baptist Church. His funeral was held 1 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at Hico Baptist Church in Dubach.

Donations may be made to Hico Baptist Church.

Blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted. Matthew 5:4.
