Funeral services for Sadie “Big Sis” Nale Knight Herring, 81, of Truxno, will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 1, 2015 at Bird’s Chapel Methodist Church, in Truxno, with Bro. Glyn Nale, Bro. Bill Smith and Bro. David Martin officiating. Burial will be in the church Cemetery under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.

Mrs. Sadie, a retired business owner & retired Union Parish School system employee, went to her heavenly home October 30, 2015. Bis Sis was a loving mother and was officially known as “Granny” to everyone who knew her. She was a great cook and was a wonderful biscuit maker. She never met a person in need that she didn’t help.

She was preceded in death by her parents: James Hampton Nale & Edna Blanche Pyle Nale; her husband, Bobby Ray Herring; Franklin Dee Knight, father of her children; 1 grandson, Bradley Darrell Knight; 1 step-son, Henry Ray Herring; 3 brothers; 1 half-brother; and 5 sisters.

Left to cherish her memory are her 6 children: James Knight & wife Sally of Laran, Jeanette Knight Miller & husband Jimmy of Truxno, Harlin Knight & wife Karen of Farmerville, Amy McAdams & husband Kenneth of Spearsville, Lisa McAdams & husband Larry of Spearsville, and Boyd Knight & wife Paula of Marion; 1 twin sister, Madie “Little Sis” Nale Bayles of Truxno; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Herring, Keith Tyler Herring, Mike Hammons, Andrew Hicks, Jacob Hicks, Tommy Herrington, Jeff Smith and Cody Mason.

Visitation starts at 5:00 pm Saturday at Bird’s Chapel Methodist Church.
