Funeral services for Bill “Billy” Calaway, 87, of Downsville will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville with Bro. Bob Jackson officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in New Hope Cemetery in Hampton, Arkansas under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Calaway was a retired from the Texas School District and San Jacinto Hospital. He enjoyed dancing, hunting and carpentry. Mr. Calaway was a member of The First Memorial Assembly of God in El Dorado, and as a Veteran of the U.S. Navy having served in World War II, he was a member of VFW Outpost 2413 and American Legion Post 10.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Flantis and Mamie Delaney Calaway; and one brother, Vincent Calaway.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sybil Calaway of Downsville; one son, Troy Calaway and wife, Jackie of Texas; three daughters, Treshia Stafford; Rita Boeker and husband, Scott; and Sabrina Kinney and husband, Mark, all of Texas; two stepsons, Danny Bryant and wife, Cindy; and Deryl Bryant and wife, Nancy, all of Louisiana; 5 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 1 step-great grandchild; and numerous other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Inman, Larrymey Hawkins, David Stafford, Scott Boeker, Danny Bryant and Deryl Bryant. Honorary pallbearers are Michael Bryant and Mark Kinney.
Visitation is 5-8 P.M. Friday at Farrar Funeral Home.
