Funeral services for Sybil Finklea Foster and her companion of many years, Dencil “Whitey” White, will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, September 27, 2013, at Mt. Nebo Church near Downsville. Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery.
Sybil was born near Downsville on September 10, 1921, and passed away at her home in Port Orange, FL on June 20, 2013, after a period of declining health.
She was predeceased by her husband, Curtis Norman Foster, and her companion, Dencil.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Anne Shuping (husband Russell), son, Curtis Stanton Foster, grandson Larry Shuping, granddaughter, Amelia Embley, and two great-grandchildren.
Dencil White was born in West Virginia and passed away at home in Port Orange, FL on December 7, 2009, after a period of declining health.
Left to cherish Dencil’s memory is his son, Michael White (wife Betty).
A funeral mass was previously held for Dencil on December 18, 2009, in Port Orange.
Sybil and Dencil spent many happy years together in Louisiana before retiring to Florida. It was their wish to return to Mt. Nebo and be at rest with Sybil’s mother, brother and other family members.
