Jack Taylor, age 79, left this world to be with his Heavenly Father Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at St. Francis Medical Center after a brief illness.

Born January 28, 1933 in Point, LA he resided in Point all of his life after returning from his service in the United States Navy as an Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class having served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Bonhomme Richard during the Korean conflict.

He worked as a process foreman at IMC in Sterlington until his retirement in 1991.

Jack was a member of Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.

Survivors include his daughter Donna and husband Bobby Carpenter of Vicksburg, MS, son John Taylor and wife Patricia of West Monroe, LA, son Jeff Taylor and wife Sheila of West Monroe, LA, as well as eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind a great many friends and a legacy of someone who touched so many hearts, so many lives.

Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Barbara, his son Jerrel Taylor and his granddaughter Kristen Taylor, parents John Robert and Lorene Taylor of Point, LA, brother Robert V. Taylor and wife Norma of Downsville, LA and brother Frank Taylor of Point, LA.

Services will be held at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church at 3 pm on Thursday October 25th with interment at Mars Hill Cemetery immediately after the service.

Visitation will be held at Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA Wednesday, October 24th from 5pm to 8pm. And, there will be a short visitation at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church on Thursday from 1 pm until time of service.

We will miss your big heart, your jokes, your love, your stubbornness, your iron will, and the selflessness you had, not just for your family, but for everyone you met. May we all strive to be more like you!

Mr. Jack Taylor, retired from IMC, died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012.  Funeral services were held at 3PM Thursday, Oct. 25th at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church with burial in Mars Hill Cemetery.  Visitation was Wednesday at Farrar Funeral Home and again prior to the service on Thursday at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.  Arrangements were under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home in Farmerville.
