Funeral services for Mrs. Fay Futch, 99, of Farmerville, will be 10:00am, Saturday, January 19, 2013 at First Baptist Church, Farmerville with Bro. Kurt Auger officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmerville City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home, Farmerville.

Mrs. Futch died Monday, January 14th. She was a lifelong educator, spending over 42 years in the Union Parish Schools. Mrs. Futch began her career in 1932, retiring in 1973 as Supervisor of Instruction. She was an active member of First Baptist Church, Farmerville, a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years, an avid quilter, and world traveler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John William & Ittie Brantley; husband, William Allen Futch; son, Dr. Marion Brantley Futch; 1 brother, Bryan John Brantley, and an infant sister.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Yvonne Turnage & husband, Charles; 3 grandchildren: Kelly Futch Starr & husband, Joel; Kerry Futch Courtney & husband, Chad; Thomas Allen Futch, Sr. & wife, Kate; 8 great grandchildren: Joseph, Katherine, Megan & Lauren Starr; Thomas Courtney; Josephine, Sarah & Allen Futch; 1 niece: Gloria Sturrock; 2 nephews: John Brantley and Charles K. Turnage, as well as many friends.

Pallbearers are John Drue Taylor, Don Wilkes, Donnie Gates, Joseph Starr, Charles K. Turnage, and Chad Courtney. Honorary pallbearers are L.E. Pardue, Chiles Carpenter, Clyde Brashier, John Green, and Zeke Tettleton.

Visitation is from 4:00-6:00pm Friday at Farrar Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, Farmerville or to the Union Parish Council on Aging.

The family would like to thank the Arbor Rose staff and countless others who cared for Mrs. Futch.
