Born July 28, 1916, Bonnie Eldon McKinnie passed from this life on November 14, 2012 in Linville, Louisiana.
He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty four years Helen Russell McKinnie; parents Willie B. and Ethel Reppond McKinnie and siblings Arvis McKinnie, Isola McKinnie Pate, Mozelle McKinnie Cobb, Byram McKinnie and William P. McKinnie.
He is survived by his children, Marilyn McKinnie Binford and her husband Rodney, Shirley McKinnie Spearman, Gary McKinnie and his wife Faye, and Larry McKinnie and his wife Lorraine. He has eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
Mr. McKinnie retired from the timber business and was an avid wood-worker, cattleman, and farmer. He was respected by all in the community and was known to make the best boat paddles in the area.
Pallbearers were Mark Goudeau, Evan Goudeau, Benjamin McKinnie, Matthew Spearman, Brennan Pfeiffer and Lanny Parker.
Honorary pallbearers were Jason McKinnie, Glenn Ham and Johnny B. Ferguson.
Visitation was held at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. November 15 and the funeral was held at Liberty Baptist Church at 2 p.m. November 16 with Brother Larry White officiating. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery in Linville.
Donations may be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery Fund and the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
