Funeral services for Howard Donal “Don” Towns, III, 56, of Bernice, LA, were held at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Reeves officiating. Visitation was 5 p.m. till time of service.
Don was born on August 2, 1955 in Tampa, FL., and passed away on July 17, 2012 in Ruston, LA.
He had his Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice System and was in the Law Enforcement. He had worked as assistant Police Chief in Helen, GA., Sheriff Deputy in White County, in Cleveland GA., Bernice Police Dept. in Bernice, LA., and was Owner /Operator of Spring Creek Farms in Cleveland, GA. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Cleveland, GA.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Mrs. Frances Aletta Bondy, Mr. and Mrs. Howard D. Towns, Jr. of Lake Wales, Fl; Mrs. Pansey Reeves Hope of Bernice, LA; Mr. Charles W. Hope of Paragould, AR; cousin, Debbie Clark of Lake Wales, Fl; and best friend Steve Cunningham of FL.
Survivors include his wife Elizabeth Ann Towns of Bernice, LA; son, Matthew Donal Towns of Bernice, LA; Andrew Brian Towns of Colorado Springs, CO; daughter, Annalee Frances Towns of Bernice, LA; daughter-in-law, Jessica Towns of Bernice, LA; father, Howard D. Towns, Jr. of Lake Wales, FL; mother, Marian C. Towns of Lake Wales, FL; sister, Virginia T. Schreier of Lake Wales, FL; brother-in-law, Joseph Schreier of Lake Wales, FL; sister-in-law, Michele Meason of Russellville, AR; brother-in-law, Larry Reeves Hope of Bernice, LA; nieces, Christine Liberatore of Winter Haven, FL; Lynne M.
