Funeral services for Betty Gray Gilbert McIntosh, age 98 of Farmerville, a retired nurse, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, August 9, 2012 at Salem Baptist Church in Farmerville. Officiating the service was Rev. Willie Cotrell and Rev. Alex Nyegaard. Interment followed at Liberty Hill Taylor Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville.
Mrs. McIntosh was a lifelong member of Salem Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Alex and Betty Taylor; husbands: Melvin Gilbert and Guy McIntosh; sisters: Beatrice Cammack, Gertrude Hill, Evelyn Sawyer and Elaine Long; brothers: A.C. Taylor, James A. Taylor, Hiram Taylor, Donald Blaine Taylor; son-in-law: Melvin Silmon and great grandchild: Temeshia Russell.
Mrs. McIntosh is survived by daughters; Peggy Russell Brown and husband Lee of Farmerville, and Syble Silmon also of Farmerville; grandchildren : Bobby R. Russell, Aubrey Mike Russell, Terri Lynn Russell Brown, Stacey Silmon and Angie Silmon Idom; 13 great grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Ceismond Nyegaard, Lee Royce Alford, George Allen Taylor, Don Nyegaard, Charles Nyegaard and Melton Gray Edward. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons, great grandsons and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Farmerville, LA.
